In 1991, Al Raya first branch opened on 70th Street (Prince Majed St.) and became a pioneer supermarket in the Kingdom. Al Raya was the first in Jeddah to offer high-quality fresh items, a full fledge bakery and 24-hour service. Very quickly Al Raya became the first in opening modern supermarkets in remote smaller towns throughout the western part of the Kingdom. Today Al Raya stores are all over the West from Jizan in the South to Tabuk in the North.
